I decided to build this page to honour one of my favourite players (or maybe my favourite, since Martina retired...), and a person that made me love tennis even more and want to play better and better. She inspired me a lot, since she's my age and look where she's at. I admire her a lot and so this page is like a tribute to Maria. :D Hope you like it.

Friday, 30.08.2003 - Masha lost!!! :(
She lost! :( Too bad... I knew it was gonna be tough against Emilie Loit, but I never thought she'd lost!! I guess it's due to the fact that she has little experience against lefties, even more against great lefties! Congratulations to Emilie though, she played really good... Good performance by Masha in her first US Open, though... Hoepfully she'll do even ebtter next year! :)

Wednesday, August 26th 2003 - AMAZING performance by Maria in the US Open's first round against Virginia Ruano-Pascual, where she won 6-1, 6-1. She played amazingly well all through the match and never let Virginia get her game going, so all good to Maria in her 1st round. She played agressively all the time, and she managed to pull winners from everywhere in the court, showing great footwork and mobilisation inside the court. In her next round she will face Emilie Loit, a french player.
